Another high scoring win for the dominant Skins U18 Girls

Ulster Barbarians South/East 7
Enniskillen U18 Girls 61

Enniskillen U18’s travelled to Armagh to play a Barbarian side made up of teams from the South and East of the province with a few other players thrown in for good measure. On this fresh sunny morning it wasn’t long before Enniskillen got into their stride with Farrah counter-attacking from deep making great ground before linking with Karla who took the play deep into the opposition 22 for Lauren to pick and go and power her way over the line for the first try of the game. The pack worked tirelessly with surging runs from Katie, Alice and Aoife providing a platform for the backs to show their skills with Moya bursting through the middle in her usual rampaging fashion and ultimately resulting in further tries for Lucy and Cora. Cora then adding an excellent conversion from a difficult angle. It was now the turn of the forwards to get in on the act and with a scrum just outside 22 in the centre of the pitch India picked at eight and showed nifty footwork and power to cross the line. From the next phase of play Sarah who had contested every ruck stole the ball and Kelly was released to showing great place for an excellent score. The forwards held onto the ball well and after many phases and offloads Sophie showed her nimble footwork and power to brush aside several players on her way to crash over for Enniskillen’s sixth try of the first half. The opposition were not to let Enniskillen have it all their own way and after some great work their fullback showed searing pace to slice through for a score under the posts leaving the halftime score 32 to 7
The first five minutes of the second-half seen an arm wrestle in the middle of the pitch with neither side giving an inch. The forwards again showed their dominance at ruck time and some driving runs and great handling by Katie and Aoife saw India released to score again out wide showing how dangerous and versatile she is. It was the backs turn now and with interplay between Karla, Farrah, Catherine and Lucy with several offloads and quick ruck ball seeing the destructive Moya crashed over for an excellent score which was converted by the ever reliable boot of Cora. Straight away from the restart the ball was gathered by the forwards and India was released from the halfway line for another score converted again by Cora. Further scores by Lauren and India left the final score 61-7 to Enniskillen.

Today from 1 to 15 this team worked in unison and did all the hard work at ruck time providing themselves with the platform to run in some magnificent scores. It was great to see Farrah back from injury after a long layoff and she looked dangerous every time she touched the ball and one last mention for Sophie Barrett who’s tackle count was immense again today.
