Enniskillen U20s have an exciting fixture coming up this Saturday as they host Athlone's Buccaneers RFC U20s for the revival of the Scallon cup, a bi-annual competition first played between the two clubs back In the 1960s and lost to the annals for some years.
The Scallon cup began in the 60s between the two clubs with local club stalwart Michael Scallon, who passed away in 2017, sponsoring the silverware.
Michael was a pillar of the club's history, having been a Club captain, president and eventually a trustee of ERFC, as well as playing for Leinster Schools and and also Minor Football for Fermanagh in his time.
We hope to have some former players of the competition from both clubs present as well as members of the Scallon family.
It's a great opportunity for the U20s to continue to build on their successful season and also revive a great sporting relationship with another one of Ireland's oldest and proudest clubs. Join us afterwards for IrishRugby v Scotland. KO 4.45pm
