Enniskillen Under-16's played away to Cavan last Saturday and from the outset Enniskillen played with heart, putting in some great tackles against a well drilledCavan team. However, Cavan's strength in their forwards soon showed, with a break from a counter ruck ending in an unconverted try under the posts to give first blood to the home side. Enniskillen held for a further 15 minutes before the Cavan forwards again scored another unconverted try. Skins continued to battle hard with a skilful off-load to captain James McKee putting him through for a score on the near wing, converted by Oisin Farry. A big hit from Jack Mcgowan on a Cavan player put the opposition on the back foot and a careless pass by Cavan was readily intercepted by Dylan Flynn, just back from injury, to score a try, again converted by Oisin Farry.
Cavan continued to prove dangerous particularly through the forwards with a text book roll off a maul to score an converted try shortly afterwards. The pace stepped up and with a few Enniskillen players suffering injuries and some questionable referee decisions in Cavan’s favour, the home side were able to add to their tally for a harsh scoreline in the finish. A very hard hitting game and a credit to all who played, final score Cavan 27 - Enniskillen 14.
