Enniskillen 3rd XV 0

Skins 3rd XV moved to the top of the table on Saturday after a comprehensive win over Cookstown. Despite a shortage of natural backs, and with locks playing at 10 and 13, superb flowing rugby was played throughout the match in a game dominated by Enniskillen’s strong mobile pack. Four tries in each half and, once again as in the previous week, 2 tries for each wing, Richard Henderson and James Cunningham showing the good handling and expansive game played. The unorthodox 6'2" 18 stone lock come out half in the form of stalwart Richie Willis became playmaker, also kicking 3 from 4 excellent conversions in the first half before handing duties over. He was assisted by Chris Fox who supplied quick ball from 9, although still fine tuning his box kicks. Stevie Tummon in the second row received well from the restart, countering fiercely, while Nathan Rutledge really came into his own with fleet of foot and evasive running from fullback that allowed him so set up several scores. Excellent support, interchange and handling from Harte and Lee in the back row throughout eventually allowed both men to finish great team tries, with the latter converting his own. The pick of the scores was from prop Darren Baker who latched onto a short offload from Henderson at full pace to outsprint the defence from 22yards. Enniskillen didn't have it all their own way against a determined, young Cookstown team, particularly in the line out despite good throwing from Kieran Fee and excellent defensive work from Richie Grey. However, Captain Adi Breen taught them a lesson in scrummaging and it was a great welcome back flanker Feargal Nolan, whose work rate and link play was excellent. Ross Duncan and Holden made the hard yards and took out several tacklers with every carry to allow the backs space. Final score 48-0. Next week Skins make the arduous journey to Inishowen, sitting 1 point behind with also 4 wins from 4, this will truly test the resolve of this strong Skins team.
