||17 - 15
On Saturday morning Skins u14 faced a very large Donegal side who travelled with strong support. Skins started well with the forwards in fine rucking form combining with the backs who were clearly intent on spreading it wide with every opportunity pinning Donegal in their own half. Donegal were finding it very difficult to get their hands on the ball until totally against the run off play a rare Skins handling error was capitalised on by the Donegal No 8 who picked up and showing great pace ran from his own 22 yard line to score in the corner.
Skins resumed pressurising constantly driving forward and moving the ball well into the Donegal half until another handling error with the Enniskillen backs getting sucked in and loosing their shape the No8 again got his hands on the ball and broke out of his own half again scoring in the corner.
Donegals tails were clearly up and sensing blood they pushed hard into Skins half playing all the Rugby for the first time in the game and again crossed the Enniskillen line to make it 0 - 15 with two minutes to go before half time. All seemed rosey in the Donegal camp with their supporters in great voice.
Skins were having none of it and from the Kick Off the forwards drove ahead pushing Donegal back before spreading the ball wide for Jack O Haire to find space on the flank to cross the line making it 5 - 15 at half time. Enniskillen came out of the blocks flying in the second half with the forwards hammering the Donegal line and soon got their reward when Conan Leonard crashed over the line to score a try which was neatly converted by Mark Crawford. 12 - 15.
Enniskillen continued to press playing 15 man rugby with the last pass not going to hand on several occasions letting a very well organised defence off the hook time and again. Skins however did not panic and stuck to the game plan and with three minutes left got their reward with Oisin Monaghan finishing off a slick handling movement by the backs to score 17 - 15.
Donegal came back at Enniskillen with everything they had pushing up onto the Enniskillen line for the first time this half however the team showed great resilience and discipline defending their line with some ferocious tackling to close out the game. A very mature performance by the young team who clearly deserved this victory.
