Enniskillen Rugby club got heavily immersed in the growing global charity initiative ‘Movember Foundation’ this year. Starting back in 2003 as a fundraising idea amongst a mere 30 Aussies, it is now supported by millions worldwide and has become particularly popular in rugby circles. The premise involves starting clean shaven on 1st November and growing a moustache of choice for the remainder of the month. The tash has went tragically out of fashion amongst young men and the challenge tends to turn plenty of heads. On the serious side of things, the foundation targets a number of causes related to preventing men dying young , including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention. Over a dozen men within the club took part and even some of the ladies got involved by taking part in the ‘Move for Movember’ segment, walking Lough Navar and Topped Mountain on a chilly Sunday morning in November. So far the club has raised over £500 with all funds going directly to the November Foundation. If you would like to contribute you can donate online here.
