Last Friday evening ERFC U16’s travelled to Kingspan stadium to watch the professionals in a double header Ulster A v Canada A followed by Ulster V Northampton. With a number of International players on show there was plenty of hard hitting action in both these high scoring games. It was a great opportunity for these young lads to get a chance to watch these players up close, enjoying the atmosphere and hopefully, as well as being an enjoyable day away, it was a good learning opportunity. Young players should take heart at the ability of the Ulster A and Senior team and the depth of young home grown talent up and coming throughout the province. In the last 12 months at least 8 players from the Enniskillen area have represented Ulster at school and club level with another maybe half a dozen being involved in training camps, and that doesn’t take into account the ladies section who have had great success in Ulster representation. An evening of sunshine and two Ulster victories left the road home to Fermanagh a shorter one. With another fast food stop inevitable was it really any wonder that some trained better on Saturday morning than others.
